Breastfeeding Support Packages

At The Birth Centre we value the breast feeding relationship as the ideal way of nourishing and nurturing your newborn.

Our dedicated team of breast feeding specialists are available for a variety of services to help you to achieve successful breast feeding.

There are 3 packages available for you to choose from, if you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us

Package 1 - Deluxe Package:

You will be Invited to an antenatal workshop to find out all you need to know about successful breast feeding

There will be two antenatal visits before birth to:

  • Provide education on achieving early initiation of breast feeding in the hospital or at home.
  • Meet your birth partner(s) to ensure they have information to support you in your choice to breast feed your baby.
  • Assess your general well being to ensure you are in an optimum health status before baby is born.
  • Help you to create a birth plan to support your choice to breast feed.

Postnatal support will include:

  • A named midwife to visit you at home as soon as you leave hospital, to support you with breast feeding.
  • Daily visits in order to support you to establish breast feeding, then visits as required for up to 6 weeks after birth.
  • 24 hour contact to your midwife in between arranged visits to offer advice and support.
  • Opportunity to visit the birth centre to meet other breast feeding mums.

*For an additional charge we can arrange for a breast feeding specialist to be with you at birth or soon after to initiate skin to skin contact and support you in the first hours after birth.

Package 2 - Postnatal Package:

  • Daily visits at home when you leave hospital to support you to establish breast feeding your baby.
  • Access to a named midwife 24 hours a day, for advice and support in between visits.
  • Ongoing care up to 6 weeks after birth to give you the best support to continue with long term breast feeding.

Package 3 - Individual Visits:

  • You can contact us to arrange one off visits at home or the centre to support you with feeding your baby.
  • We can arrange to see you at home or the Birth Centre at a time to suit yourself, evenings and weekends available.
  • We offer a discount if you book 3 or more visits in advance.
