Our Support Staff

Lynne Yarwood, Practice Manager

It is my role to ensure your time at the Private Birth Centre is a warm and welcoming experience. I am around on a daily basis, during office hours to listen to your every request.

I am qualified and experienced in many aspects of health and safety, hygiene and customer service.
I oversee all of the Birth Centre staff, ensuring they are working well as a team, are well supported, and are up to date with any training and studies.

I am not midwifery trained but have full understanding of the role and responsibilities of the midwife. I actively encourage and support them in aiming to advance their role in care of the healthy mother and baby.

It is my responsibility to ensure you are happy with every aspect of your care, from the point of initial enquiry to final discharge from our services.

I ensure your private room is clean, safe and appropriate to your individual requirements. I can even arrange the flowers on dad's behalf after the birth, and arrange a pamper session for mum before or after the big event.

I hope that I can develop a trusting relationship with you and your family so you feel comfortable to approach me with any request or query. I will endeavour to meet your wishes, and liaise with the appropriate person to ensure any issues are dealt with professionally and efficiently.

Paula Aspinall, Office Manager

BA (Hons)

I feel very privileged to work at the  Private Birth Centre, and to be surrounded by people who have one commitment, which is to provide continuity and excellent care to all women. I worked in the recruitment industry for 10 years as an Office Manager and a Human Resources Manager; the change of industry is very dramatic; however both industries are committed to the same end and that is ensuring that the needs of their client's are met to the highest standard and that the service provided is tailored to ensure that the highest quality of care is achieved.

Having my daughter in January 2006 and being fortunate enough to have a very positive pregnancy and birth experience myself, due to a personal relationship I have with one of the Midwives, I felt that I wanted to get involved in this venture to offer the skills and experience that I have developed to the benefit of ensuring that the clients of the birth centre are able to have a calm, efficient and positive experience also.

I live locally with my husband and daughter and in my spare time I love nothing more than reading a book, going out with my girl-friends and dancing. I look forward to meeting you and your family.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, watching football, meeting with friends and visiting my caravan in North Wales. I feel very privileged to be part of such a professional and caring team who always put the client and their family first.

Lesley Crewe, Office Manager (Maternity Cover) & Birth Support Therapist.

As well as working part-time in the office, I am also responsible for running the Private Birth Centre Service User Group.  This group is a body of previous clients who have agreed to give us constructive feedback and their opinion and ideas on any changes at the centre.  This way, we can be sure we are making changes where necessary  and develop our services in line with what our clients want.

I am also a qualified Birth Support Therapist trained and registered with Expectancy Ltd.
