Our Support Staff

Paula Aspinall, Office Manager

BA (Hons)

I feel very privileged to work at the  Birth Centre, and to be surrounded by people who have one commitment, which is to provide continuity and excellent care to all women. I worked in the recruitment industry for 10 years as an Office Manager and a Human Resources Manager; the change of industry is very dramatic; however both industries are committed to the same end and that is ensuring that the needs of their client's are met to the highest standard and that the service provided is tailored to ensure that the highest quality of care is achieved.

Having my daughter in January 2006 and being fortunate enough to have a very positive pregnancy and birth experience myself, due to a personal relationship I have with one of the Midwives, I felt that I wanted to get involved in this venture to offer the skills and experience that I have developed to the benefit of ensuring that the clients of the birth centre are able to have a calm, efficient and positive experience also.

I was lucky enough to experience the care we provide first hand during my second pregnancy and was fortunate enough to experience a wonderful water birth with my son; the care I received was second to none.

Christine Barker, Operational Manager

ChirstineI am delighted to have joined this wonderful team at the Private Birth Centre and share their ethos of giving ladies the opportunity to have a natural and rewarding birth.

My role at the Centre is to ensure the development and implementation of Policies and Practices to support Health, Safety, Security for all our clients and their families and the staff who work at the Centre.

I recently retired from the National Health Service after 27 years in a variety of operational roles and look forward to working in a holistic health setting that brings such wonderful rewards for its clients. Both my husband and daughter work in a Healthcare setting so my family and I are committed to improving healthcare wherever we can.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, watching football, meeting with friends and visiting my caravan in North Wales. I feel very privileged to be part of such a professional and caring team who always put the client and their family first.

Lesley Crewe, Birth Support Therapist.

I have been extremely lucky to be a part of the Birth Centre and cannot think of anywhere I would prefer to work.  The team here are amazing, kind and gracious and it has been my pleasure to help the centre to re-brand and become the Private Birth Centre.

As well as working part-time in the office, I am also responsible for running the Private Birth Centre Service User Group.  This group is a body of previous clients who have agreed to give us constructive feedback and their opinion and ideas on any changes at the centre.  This way, we can be sure we are making changes where necessary  and develop our services in line with what our clients want.

I am also a qualified Birth Support Therapist trained and registered with Expectancy Ltd.
